An Unexpected Surprise!

I just got a box in the mail from my Grandma's cousin Ruth. It is full of stuff to decorate cakes!

When I stopped at my Grandma's house on the way home from Oklahoma I was watching her decorate a birthday cake for my nephew and mentioned that I would like to learn to do that to earn a little extra money from home. I guess my cake decorator Grandma mentioned it to her cake decorating cousin, who sent me a box of stuff to get started!
Wow, I need to go write a thank you card.

Hmmm, I wonder if it is possible to make pretty cakes with rapidura and whole wheat. LOL. Thanks Ruth and Grandma Rose!

About time for some pictures huh?

I have a bunch of cute pictures on my camera...still. These are not them. These are ones I took with my MIL's camera.

All in the Family

So yeah.
I mentioned in my previous post that I was gone to Oklahoma. Yes, to nearly the very place I consider "home". My brother Bill and his wife live in one of the towns very near where we grew up in southwest Oklahoma.
I do believe that is the only time I have ever gone to specifically visit him other than for his wedding. We stop to see him on our way to visit my parents in Arkansas occasionally.
Anywho, on this visit, Tommy, Tyrel and I went up to help them get ready for a baby. They just found out that they were going to get a baby about 2 weeks or so ago...It is due any day now.
How is that possible? Well they are adopting of course. My cousin is pregnant and feels that she won't be able to give the baby a good life, so is putting it up for adoption. If Bill and Glynna had not wanted it so desperately (they don't have any children) then Stephen and I were considering adopting, so as to keep it in the family.
So we had lots of stuff to get done in such a short time. I can hardly wait for her/him to get here. I think it will be a girl, but they don't know.
Anywho, that's where I have been.

Tagged

I was tagged by Bethany , while I was gone to Oklahoma (another post for that).
This is the first time I have ever been tagged.
These are the rules

1. Choose the 4th folder where you store pictures on your computer.
2. Select the 4th picture in the folder, and post it on your blog.
3. Explain the picture.
4. Tag four people to do the same.
5. No cheating (cropping, editing, etc.)

Well, this is a picture of the camera man from the movie "The Pearl of Greatest Price" which is being made in San Angelo. It is an independent christian film. The director was on the crew of "Fireproof" if I am not mistaken. Anyways, I take behind the scenes photos for them, and this if of the those pictures.

Well that was fun.

I tag the Zesch's, Sarah , Laurie , and Nikki

Skating

Today we got together with some local homeschoolers and went roller skating. Stephen and Tommy even joined us! It is always fun to go skating. I remember the first time I saw Stephen skating I was SO surprised how good he was at it.... Honestly I didn't expect him to be so graceful or whatever you would call it. ( I was just as surprised at what a great swimmer he is.)It is fun to watch all the little kids learning to skate, and to see the big kids stop and help them. Tyrel loved skating and was not real happy when I took them off of him and put him back in the stroller to ride. It was very tiring to go around and around bent in half though.

Today is also my newest Sister in Laws 17th birthday! Happy birthday S! We keep teasing her that it is her first birthday, because it is her first birthday with her new name...so S is only 1, J was 16.
