Mostly just pictures.

My youngest brothers were here visiting me for the past three weeks. Here are some pictures from while they were here. They don't like having their pictures taken so there aren't many of them. Except the ones I took of them that mom requested. I almost didn't even get them taken because I waited until the evening before they left. Nothing like waiting til the last minute to get things done.
We went down to the Hill Country and went to some cool little shops in Brady and such.

Stopping for a picnic on the side of the road for lunch.

Well that was more pictures of our Brady trip than I thought, so I will save the other pictures for another post.

A Question For Grandma

Hey Grandma, I know you are working at Ruth's right now, so I figured you are really busy and didn't want to call. I assume you have access to a computer though, so here is my question. How do you make fondant? I think I have the stuff to make it, but I don't remember exactly what to do. Not a real big hurry. I am not making the cake til Friday.

PS. Happy Birthday TommyStan.

Not Much

I don't really have anything to talk about and my camera is at my house. I just felt like posting.
We went garage sale-ing on Saturday. I was amazed at how God will provide even our wants as well as needs sometimes. I got several things from my "want for Tyrel" list that I have even almost bought new before, but couldn't bring myself to spend the money.
One of those is a "bike trailer" for pulling Tyrel behind my bike that I don't have yet. (Another want). They are very expensive, those bike trailers. We started out the morning at the garage sale of a homeschooler near us that will be moving to Japan soon. We got a few Little House on the Prairie type movies there, and Tommy got some Star Trek videos. They had a bike trailer like I wanted, but it was way out of my price range. So I didn't even ask on it.
Then we went wandering around town scouting out more garage sales. I soon found a quilt for Tyrel with a cowboy theme to it. It needed a good washing but was in good shape and only $1.00.
The next things I found both at the same garage sale. One was a little rug with roads on it for driving little cars around. It was $2.00. They also had a bike trailer. It didn't have a price on it so I was afraid to ask, thinking they would want way too much...so I sent Sam to ask while I stood guard over it. They wanted $5.00. Sold. The tires are both flat, but hey, for five bucks I can fix that. The last thing was a little toy 4 wheeler like Gavin has, and Tyrel loved playing with when we went up to see my brother's family a few weeks ago. $2.00. This same garage sale had a rocking chair Tyrel's size that I really really wanted to get him. But wanting to stay under 20.00 for the day of spending I didn't get it at 15.00. Too much for a garage sale item anyways. I might pay that much for a bed, but not a little rocking chair.

Tough Parenting

Probably the hardest part of parenting for me is disciplining Tyrel. Not only do I have a soft heart when it comes to it, but Ty is just so darn funny that it is SO hard not to laugh when I need to be tough.
As new as Tyrel is to potty training I usually don't get on to him for an accident. But at times like a few minutes ago, when I ask him if he needs to go, he looks at me and tells me no, and then proceeds to go in his undies, I do get on to him some.
I took him in the bathroom, carefully took off his undies, lightly swatted his hiney, and set him on the potty and proceeded to ask him if he knew he needed to let Mama know he needed to potty. I got about 5 words into my lecture and he reached his hands up and with his cute little index fingers, he plugged his ears.
I wasn't quite sure what to do so I excused myself, told him to stay there, went and laughed, asked Stephen to take over, he said no, so I went back and cleaned him up. I was caught off guard.

What Tyrel Has Been Up To.

I tried to post these yesterday right after I took them, but it wouldn't let me. My MIL has already got them posted so if you read both our blogs, then you've already seen them, or similar anyways. But people like my Grandma only read mine I think. So these are for you. Huntin' WabbitsRiding CatsPlaying with sticksBeing CuteJust a swingin'
